    Chili Cook Off

Visit the beautiful, luxurious Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, PA on Saturday, June 13 for the 6th Annual Five Alarm Mountain Madness Chili Cook-Off! It runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is going to be a fun-packed day! Lady Luck® will be competing in the restaurant division again this year, after winning third place last year. So we are excited to turn up the heat and get competitive.

Last year, the first place winner was Fabrizi's®, and Pinky's Country Kitchen® received second place. This year's winner will get a plaque, a one-night stay at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and a $100 Resort Amenity Credit for a prize package worth over $700.

The International Chili Society (ICS) is the biggest food contest and festival organization in the world. It has thousands of members worldwide who help raise funds for worthwhile charities or non-profit organizations by cooking, judging and having fun in chili cook-offs. People often call them Chiliheads. The ICS approves Nemacolin's Chili Cook-Off and Brewfest as a regional event, so winners automatically qualify for the World's Championship in October.

ICS members can also compete in the Red Chili, Chili Verde or Salsa categories. Over $5,000 in cash is available, with a $2,000 prize to the Red Chili winner. A $60 annual membership fee gives you access to select ICS cook-offs, and there's an entrance fee for some events as well. The first 50 people to register for the Nemacolin chili cook-off will get their own 10-square-foot competition areas, along with a 6-foot table and two chairs for each cook. However, cooks will still be responsible for providing tents, sandbags and washing stations. Competitors get special discounts on two-bedroom townhouses and RV spaces before and during the cook-off. Part of the event proceeds will benefit the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department.

There's no gate fee, and chili-tasting kits for guests are just $5 per person. You can add unlimited beer for only another $15. Try 20-foot ropes courses, a 1,050-foot zip line, scenic chair lift rides, paddle boats, mini golf, a climbing wall and more for only $25. You can even play paintball for $5. There's also live entertainment, a craft fair and a pepper-eating contest at 2:00 pm. Play a relaxing round of championship golf or indulge yourself at the Woodlands Spa at Nemacolin. Stop by Lady Luck before or after the cook-off for a fun, exciting night of gaming. You can play slots, video poker or a wide variety of exciting table games, including blackjack, roulette, craps, three card poker, four card poker, Mississippi Stud and more.

We are excited to spice things up at the chili cook-off this year and we can’t wait to see you here! Let’s Play More. Be Happy®. and enjoy some chili!
