Big Game, Big Eats!
The biggest football game of the season is fast approaching, and no matter which team you’re cheering for, there’s reason to celebrate. Gather a lively bunch of friends and cook up some game day grub that’s sure to be a crowd pleaser. We’ve got you covered with some tasty bites that’ll have everyone cheering, even if there aren’t any good plays on the field!
Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers
There’s no better combination than bacon, cheese and a little spice! It doesn’t get much simpler than this tasty appetizer.
8 oz. cream cheese
1 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
1 clove garlic, chopped
5 slices bacon, halved
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, pepper jack and chopped garlic.
Cut jalapenos in half and spoon out seeds. Fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture and wrap with a halved slice of bacon.
Bake at 400 degrees F for about 25 minutes, or until bacon is crispy.
Take your popcorn game to a new level with this addictive combination of sweet and salty.
1 bag microwave popcorn
1tsp. vegetable oil
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 sleeve Oreos, crushed
Microwave popcorn according to the package’s instructions and pour into gallon-sized resealable plastic bag.
Combine white chocolate chips and oil and microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until chocolate is melted.
Pour the melted chocolate into the resealable bag, close and shake until the popcorn is coated. Add crushed Oreos into the bag and shake until the cookie pieces cover the popcorn.
Pour the popcorn mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in an even layer and let it sit for 20 minutes, or until the white chocolate hardens.
Buffalo Chicken Sliders
Nothing says game day snack like finger-lickin’ sliders. These buffalo chicken sliders are so good you’re guests will be back for seconds (and thirds!).
2 pounds boneless chicken
12 oz. bottle Frank's Wing Sauce
1 oz. package Ranch Dressing Mix
12 slider buns
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup Ranch dressing
First, put the chicken, wing sauce and ranch dressing mix into a slow cooker and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours. When it’s cooked, remove the chicken and shred. Place the shredded chicken back into the slow cooker and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
Place cheddar cheese on one half of the buns and place under the broiler until it’s melted. Top the buns with chicken and ranch dressing. Serve hot.
Pigs in a Blanket
A crowd-pleasing twist on this classic snack!
2 sheets frozen pastry dough
12 all-beef hot dogs
1 large egg
1/4 tsp. salt
Spicy mustard, optional
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. On a lightly floured surface, roll each pastry sheet into a large rectangle. Cut the rectangle in half, and cut each half into 3 pieces for a total of 6 pastry pieces.
Pierce each hot dog several times with a fork. Whisk together egg and salt to make an egg wash. Roll up each hot dog in pastry and brush with egg wash to seal and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Bake about 20 minutes, until golden brown and puffed. Slice each hot dog into 5 sections and serve warm with spicy mustard.
