Bank It Blackjack Tournament
From slots to table games, Lady Luck® Nemacolin offers a variety of gaming options — and on Saturday, March 19, Lady Luck® is excited to be hosting the Bank it Blackjack Tournament! If you are new to blackjack, don't let the first time that you sit down at a gaming table intimidate you. Blackjack is exciting and quite easy! Here are a few pointers to help you get started:
Premise of the Game - Blackjack is pretty simple. Basically, you want to get closer to 21 than the dealer, without going over 21.
Values of the Cards - The following are the card values when playing blackjack:
• An Ace can count as either 1 or 11.
• The cards from 2 through 9 are valued at their face value.
• The 10, Jack, Queen, and King are all valued at 10.
Deal of the Cards - The dealer will begin to deal the cards to each player once all bets are placed. Starting at his left (your right) he will make two passes around the table ensuring that both he and the players each have two cards. The dealer then flips one card over, exposing its value as the “dealer upcard."
How the Dealer Plays His Hand - First, the dealer flips over the “hole card,” revealing his two-card starting hand. Then he must draw cards until he has a total of 17 or more. His hand must be played in this very specific way, with no choices allowed.
Wins, Losses and Ties - Your hand is a bust if you draw a card that makes your hand total go over 21. That is an automatic lose. The dealer will immediately discard your hand and collect your bet.
If you didn't bust, the dealer will play out his hand at the end. If his cards go over 21 then the players that remain win their bets. The dealer will compare his final total to yours if neither of you have busted. You win the bet if your total is higher than his. You lose the bet if his total is higher than yours.
If the dealer's total is the exact same as yours it's called a “push,” and you don't win or lose your bet. In this case, you can either leave your chips in the betting circle for the next hand, or add to or remove from the chips to the amount you'd like to bet.
